Abstract
A new approach for analysis and minimization of harmonics on the input and output sides of three-phase current-type ac/dc PWM converters is proposed in this paper. The proposed approach is based on the dual relationships between voltage-type and current-type three-phase PWM converters. Analysis results show that analysis and control methods that have been developed for voltage-type PWM converters can also be applied to the current-type ones. By using the proposed approach, the harmonics on the input and output sides of current-type PWM converters can be calculated easily without using conventional Fourier series approach which is time consuming and complex. The analysis results are useful in designing the input and output sides filters.
