Abstract
This paper presents a two dimensional boundary element method for analysis of mechanically fastened composite repair patches. The cracked sheet is modelled using dual boundary element technique. Mechanical fasteners are modelled as linear springs whose forces are treated as point forces. The patch is modelled using anisotropic boundary element method for analysis. An application is analysed to demonstrate the applicability and accuracy of the proposed formulation. © 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
