Abstract
Power (energy) loss calculation in power distribution is very important both in operation and planning. Accurate calculation of power losses, however, can not be done because accurate data of the actual load is usually not available. In this paper, an approximate method to calculate the power losses in a distribution network is proposed. The power losses are divided into the technical and nontechnical one. A case study of power loss evaluation in a distribution feeder of PT. PLN is also presented to show the application of the proposed method.
