Abstract

Hybrid control approach for pq instantaneous power theory applied to the 3-phase 4-wire active power filter is proposed. The control methods lead to a simple technique inherited from the conventional direct control method and offer a good dynamic response for active filtering in power system. With the goal to simplify the implementation, 2 methods – i.e. best vector selection and angle-based vector selection – are tested and evaluated. The two methods are compared according to the computation time required for the digital implementation. The analysis is verified using the PSIM simulation software. © 2010 IEEE.
