Abstract

Up to now there have not been many alternative types of cement besides Portland Cements which are used as binder materials in Construction Industries. On the other hand, the demand of cement increases along with the increasing population growth. Two parameters influenced in the cement-making process are silica modulus and lime saturation factor. The aim of this research is to analyze how significantly the silica modulus and lime saturation factor influences the physical and mechanical properties of hydraulic cement alternative. The test results show that cement modulus influence both physical and mechanical properties, although not significantly. © 2004 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
