The hall is located at the entrance site of the Institute of Technology Bandung, side by side with her twin building, the East Hall (or Aula Timur). The buildings were erected in 1920, and designed by the Dutch’s Architect, Henri Maclaine Pont. The hall has a traditional West Javanese roofing type, and a curved wooden structured. The surface material of its ceiling, wall and floor are hardboard, mixture of plastered bricks and glass windows, and marble, respectively. The West Hall is usually used for speech activities such as conferences, general lectures, and university’s formal ceremony, as well as to perform musical activities such as traditional musical performance, jazz performance, piano recital, etc. These made the West Hall a multipurpose hall or auditorium. With regard to this fact, research to study the acoustics performance of this hall was conducted. One of the purposes is to preserve the acoustic conditions in digital audio format documentation. A small part of the research is presented in this paper. The paper will discuss the acoustics condition of the West Hall, by analyzing the following 6 parameters: Early Decay Time (EDT), C80, D50, RASTI, IACC, and the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) distribution. The EDT was used to show the reverberation characteristics of the Hall, while the C80, D50 and RASTI were used to evaluate the intelligibility of the hall in term of musical performance (C80, clarity) and speech activity (D50 and RASTI). The spatial condition of the Hall was analyzed by means of its IACC values. It was shown that in general all the parameters comply with the recommended values related to a multipurpose hall, both for unoccupied and occupied conditions. It was also shown that the installation of a pair of non omnidirectional loudspeaker can improved the acoustics condition of the hall.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Acoustic conditions,Digital audio,Early decay time,Field reconstruction,Glass windows,Indonesia,Musical performance,Recommended values,Sound pressure level,Speech activity,Surface materials[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
