This is the first report that α-mangostin inhibited the phosphorylation of KDR tyrosine kinase and also the Y1175 residue of KDR. α-Mangostin also showed inhibitory effects on proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) (IC 50 1.2 μM) and human umbilical artery endothelial cells (IC 50 2.4 μM), as well as the migration (IC50 0.034 μM) and tubule formation (at the concentrations of 0.6 and 1.2 μM) of HUVECs. These results suggest that the inhibition of the phosphorylation of KDR tyrosine kinase is concerned in the anti-angiogenic activity of α-mangostin. © 2012 The Japanese Society of Pharmacognosy and Springer.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]α-Mangostin,Angiogenesis,KDR,Migration[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Acknowledgments This research was partially supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) AA Scientific Platform Program (2010–2012) and a grant from the High-Tech Research Center Project, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan (S0801043).[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1007/s11418-012-0645-z[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
