By doing so compressed video can be transmitted on a link with limited bandwidth. However, the video compression has the disadvantage of being prone to errors that can lead to a significant reduction in video quality. This research studied the effect of bit errors on the quality of H.264/AVC video coding standard. By introducing errors in the payload data and on a header of the transmitted frame in accordance with the desired BER, assessment on the video quality of a reconstructed video in term of PSNR has been evaluated. The results obtained show that the bit error can cause error propagation in a row video frames. If an error occurs in the header, it can cause the entire video frame can not be decoded. BER at 10-5 generally considered suitable for the transmission of data, but for video application of video with high temporal information, the level of bit error provides low quality video. © 2012 IEEE.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Bit-errors,Compressed video,Error propagation,H.264/AVC,H.264/AVC video,H.264/AVC video coding,H.264/AVC video coding standard,Impact analysis,Limited bandwidth,Low qualities,Payload data,PSNR,Temporal information,Transmission of data,Video applications,Video frame,Video quality[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]bit error,compression,H.264/AVC,PSNR,video coding, video quality[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1109/TSSA.2012.6366074[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
