Abstract

We propose Constrained-Matching Pursuit Algorithm (CMPA) to improve detection performance of phase-coded radars. Matched filter response of weak targets cannot be used to detect the weak targets. We show that iterative matching pursuit algorithm imposed by a constrain that no two objects share the same range bin, capable to find them. A Matlab simulation of a radar employing 128 length code constructed from Barker Sequence is conducted to simulate the proposed method. Further experiments by implementing the radar on SDR (Software-Defined Radio) platform based on GNU-Radio and USRP (Universal Software Radio Pheriperal) are conducted to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method. © 2013 IEEE.
