This article reports the performance of DIALux 4.12 and DIALux evo 4.1 against the analytical test cases of CIE 171:2006. Both programs show very good agreement with the reference values in cases with point source. DIALux 4.12 yields noticeable errors at receiving points with small configuration factors, in cases with area source. Both programs show good agreement with the reference values in cases with diffuse reflection, respect luminous flux conservation, but do not respect variation in relative angular transmission due to varying incidence angles. Inaccuracies are found in daylighting scenes, particularly in the calculation of sky and externally reflected components. It may be of common interest for the CIE to amend the current document and publish a new version with possibly a new series of test cases.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]CIE 171:2006,DIALux 4.12,DIALux evo 4.1,simulation,Test case,validation[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]CIE 171:2006,DIALux 4.12,DIALux evo 4.1,simulation,test cases,validation[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1080/15502724.2015.1061438[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
