In this paper, the shifting angle of electric field pattern and the backlobe pattern of rectangular microstrip antenna are investigated as parameters of radiation pattern affected by the presence of shorting post. By changing the number and location of shorting posts, it shows that the shifting angle of electric field pattern can be achieved over 2.25°-15.5°. Meanwhile to keep parameter and VSWR at considerable values, location of the feeding point is varied alternately. Furthermore, it is found that the presence of shorting post can be used to reduce and smoothen backlobe pattern of rectangular microstrip antenna. In the current work the backlobe alternation is measured only by qualitative observation.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Backlobe pattern,Electric field patterns,Feeding points,Operating frequency,Qualitative observations,Reconfigurable radiation patterns,Rectangular-microstrip antennas,Shorting posts[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Backlobe pattern, reconfigurable radiation pattern, rectangular microstrip antenna, shorting post[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1109/ICITACEE.2015.7437817[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
