Entrepreneur capabilities in managing SMEs become key success factor of business sustainability. There are three roles that entrepreneurs must competently in order to be successful, namely entrepreneurial, managerial and technical-functional. Different competencies required to perform these roles, related to the specific knowledge of the industry, managerial ability and experience. Drawing insights from the literature review, this paper aims to provide a better understanding on the relationship between entrepreneurial, managerial, technical competencies and firm performance in the context software industries SMEs.
