Analysis of the integration of rice and paddy prices in Indonesia using a vector error correction model

Ltd.This study measures the integration of rice and paddy prices to identify an effective rice price policy. If the price of rice substantially impacts the paddy price, a higher rice price could increase paddy prices and stimulate farmers to increase production and ultimately create food sovereignty. If the effect is small, then this policy would not be effective and may harm consumers and increase poverty. This study applies a vector error correction model to analyze data from two sources: (1) the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia and (2) the Central Bureau of Statistics Indonesia. The results indicate that rice prices are integrated with paddy prices.
