Implementation creative thinking for undergraduate student: A case study of first year student in business school

All rights reserved.The aim of this was to examine the creative process of undergraduate student, where they formed in teams to plan and run a creative project. Design Thinking was a human-centered approach in creative processes for creating a product and/or service with a customer driven point a view, where the creator put himself or herself in customers’ shoes when creates product and/or service. An observation was conducted through seeing the interaction among student in the creative processes. How they share knowledge and opinion in ideation processes, and also to offer that the diversity of opinion that can lead to conflict occurred, turn out to be enriching alternative of decision-making. This study was conducted the qualitative approach to examine the implementation parts of Design Thinking from Tim Brown, which are the Divergent and Convergent Thinking as it happened consciously or unconsciously. Some findings in this research indicated the plots model of brainstorming of process Divergent and Convergent Thinking from previous research with creative people in creative industry, although the process cannot be the same as the findings of previous research. Those plots model occurred in creative process continuously as a circle until the project’s problem was solved and each stakeholder satisfied with the outcome.
