All rights reserved. The preliminary survey of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) noise indicates the sound emitted by ventilator and monitor instruments being the most disruptive for nurses. This condition requires a noise control to enable the noise nuisance being more acceptable. However, this needs a great care as not all acoustic treatment type can be used due to the safety and health reasons. Moreover, the room surfaces and area of the ICU are also commonly limited to be treated. In this research, micro-structure absorbers are employed to control the sound field of ICU where sound absorption is present due to the resonant mechanism. The micro-structures are obtained by taking advantage of micro-structure of fabric material so that a specific manufacturing in forming tiny holes is not needed. The absorbers are situated on ceiling and implemented like typical micro-perforated panels where the backing cavities are required. To be effective, the maximum absorption of absorber are tuned at frequencies at which the noise spectrum of the ventilator and monitor are predominantly large. According to simulation results, the sound pressure level at low frequencies are reduced up to 8.1 dB for ventilator area while 7.7 dB reduction is pronounced around monitor area. The sound pressure level at mid frequencies are reduced up to 7.4 dB and 5.3 dB for ventilator and monitor area respectively. Meanwhile, the sound pressure level at high frequencies are decreased up to 6.0 dB for ventilator area and 5.2 dB reduction around monitor area.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Acoustic treatment,Fabric materials,High frequency HF,Micro-perforated panels,Mid-frequencies,Safety and healths,Sound absorption,Sound pressure level[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Acoustic preferences,ICU,Micro-structure absorption[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
