Abstract

© 2017 IEEE.The value of sub-transient reactance depends on the design of damper winding or amortissuer. All synchronous generators have sub-transient reactants even though it does not have damper winding physically. The damper winding can contribute to reduce the sub-transient current when generator in fault condition. The generator quantitative parameters are used to perform the simulation using MATLAB/Simulink to determine the fault current that will occurs and also to predict the magnitude of current that flows on the damper winding. In this study, the analysis of the generator is performed using Park dq0 system.
