This is required to address which area need detail analysis and to support projected damage and loss assessment. We utilized a simple yet robust SCS method which is a well-known method to calculate runoff composed of simple calculation formula but proven to be able to do flood-prone area mapping effectively. Satellite rainfall dataset has been given as the main forcing factor in SCS formula to generate runoff values. The results of this research experiments have been successfully produced the map of the flood-prone areas in Java Island and therefore confirm that rainfall data is the primary forcing factor to develop flood hazard map rather than solely use topographic data. A combination between runoff and the other hydrological parameter such as flow accumulation might be useful to enhance the existing Java island flood index. According to the results, we proposed to do a more in-depth study in the northern part of Java Island.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Calculation formula,Flood hazard maps,Flood index,Flow accumulation,GSMap,Hydrological parameters,Satellite mapping,Satellite rainfalls[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Flood,Flood Index,GSMap,Runoff,SCS-CN[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]The authors wish to acknowledge the support offered by PT Reasuransi MAIPARK Indonesia within flood research program, for which Fiza Wira Atmaja is the head of Research Development and Innovation division. The contents of this paper are based mainly upon data and information produced within flood research project by PT Inteligensi Risiko, PT Reasuransi Maipark, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Mercu Buana. The overall contribution made by the flood research project team is also recognized. Data was also supported by Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (National Disaster Management Authority), Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (Ministry of Public Works and Housing), and Badan Informasi Geospasial (Geospatial Information Agency).
