Development of Engine Power Capacity Calculation Method for Range Extender and Case Study in Medium-Size Electric Bus

This method was developed by considering electric vehicle’s specification, driving cycle, road’s gradient profile, electrical components consumption, and powertrain component’s efficiency. The method that had been made is then tested with a case study. Case study for this research was modified a medium-size electric bus with the capacity of 36 people to become range-extended electric bus. Simulation part of this case study was completed by using AVL Cruise software. The operating track used is located in the popular tourist area in Bali. This track was selected because Bali is the leading tourist area in Indonesia and to support Bali as the pioneer in green tourism.
