All rights reserved.Composite fibers of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)/shell extract of Melinjo (SEM) have been successfully synthesized using electrospinning method. The synthesis began by making precursor solutions of PVP/SEM at varying mass ratio between PVP and SEM 10:0, 8:2, 6:4, and 4:6. All precursor solutions were then electrospun and transformed into fibers. The results of microscope showed that as the weight fraction of SEM increased, there was gradual morphological change from fiber into beaded fibers. Subsequently, the molecular interaction within the fibers was examined by means of Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer.
