This paper discusses the literatures about the dynamic roles of female as the initiator of social enterprises, which can be seen as one of the main prompting factors in tackling social and economy problems. Design/methodology/approach – This research is using mixed method based on interpretive paradigm and presents multi-case studies. Findings – Based on previous researches, there are several micro and small enterprises initiated by females that have the main objectives to empower others. These enterprises have proven to be quite efficient in empowering females. The dimensions that emerge are: Self-drives; unavoidable predictors; contentment; learning process; and continuity. Research limitations/implications – The study is subject to limitations by providing six female social entrepreneurs and will not probably be opted for the generalizability of results. However, there are implications for further research where there should be a multilevel analysis aimed at providing wider spectacles towards female social entrepreneurs. Originality/value – The theoretical framework developed for this study laid the foundation for developing literature on the embeddedness of females’ entrepreneurship and how the process of creating embedding becomes instrumental in business ownership. Based on in-depth interview and observation of six social enterprises managed by Indonesian females, this paper does not only provides theoretical framework, but also grounded research based on empirical findings that were being coded into a causal model of female social entrepreneurship.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.4324/9780429293085-6[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
