Peat soils are commonly considered being partly decomposed vegetation. Accurate information in the handling and utilization of peat soils as well as the thickness is needed. In this study, electrical and magnetic properties have been used for K-means cluster to identify layers of peat soils. K-means cluster is a partitioning method that treats observations in the data. Data were obtained every cm for its electrical conductivity (σ) and magnetic susceptibility (χm) properties. A 291-cm core was obtained at Tegal Arum Village in the South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The K-means cluster results indicated two different layers at 248 cm in the environment. We also analysed using Loss on Ignition (LOI) measurement. In the first layers, it was found that 87.65% of LOI associated with peat soils (at above 248 cm). Then, the second layers (26.11%) associated with mineral soils (at below 248 cm). The results of this study using K-means cluster can be used to delineate soil layers.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Electrical conductivity,Indonesia,K-means cluster,Loss on Ignition (LOI),Magnetic susceptibility,Mineral soils,Organic soils,Peat[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]The authors would like to thank Tegal Arum village officials, South Kalimantan, Indonesia for their cooperation and supports during the field measurement and The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia for the research grant.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
