Herein, mesoporous palladium nanocrystals (MPNs) that possess various degrees of curvature are successfully synthesized following an approach that relies on a facile polymeric micelle assembly approach. The as-prepared MPNs exhibit larger surface areas compared to conventional Pd nanocrystals and their nonporous counterparts. The MPNs display enhanced electrocatalytic activity for ethanol oxidation when compared to state-of-the-art commercial palladium black and conventional palladium nanocubes used as catalysts. Interestingly, as the degree of curvature increases, the surface-area-normalized activity also increases, demonstrating that the curvature of MPNs and the presence of high-index facets are crucial considerations for the design of electrocatalysts.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Catalytic properties,Degree of curvature,Electrocatalytic activity,Ethanol oxidation,High index facets,Metallic nanocrystals,Palladium nanocubes,Polymeric micelle[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]concave structure, density functional theory, mesoporous metals, micellar templates, negative curvature,palladium[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][{‘$’: ‘This research was supported by the Basic Science Research Program through the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) funded by the Ministry of Education (2020R1A6A3A03039037).
