The used of binomial power distribution with Pascal coefficient is to suppress side lobe level (SLL) of the array antenna useful for some wireless communications including radar application. The array antenna which is intended to operate at the L-band frequency of 1.27GHz is designed using two layers of FR4 epoxy dielectric substrate with the total thickness of 1.6mm. It is constructed of five square patches printed on the top side of first layer of dielectric substrate which are fed by using proximity-coupled feeding deployed on the top side of second layer of grounded-dielectric substrate. To demonstrate the feasibility of SLL suppression, an array antenna with uniform power distribution is also developed and characterized. From the characterization result, it shows that the binomial power distribution can suppress SLL of the realized patch array antenna up to 6dB comparable to the uniform power distribution patch array antenna.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Array antennas,Dielectric substrates,Patch array antennas,Power distributions,Proximity coupled,Side lobe level (SLL),Square patches,Wireless communications[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Array antenna, binomial power distribution,proximity-coupled,square patch[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]This work is partially supported by the Overseas Research Program, Institut Teknologi Bandung, FY2017.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1109/APMC.2017.8251505[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
