In this work, hydrophilic modification on polypropylene (PP) ultrafiltration membrane was conducted by air assisted polydopamine (PDA) coating with the addition of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). The results showed that the PDA/PVP coating successfully improved the hydrophilicity of the PP membrane that indicated by the decrease of water contact angle and the increase of pure water flux. The hydrophilic modification was also able to reduce the formation of irreversible fouling that has been proved by the increase of flux recovery ratio from 68.95% to 86.14–87.71% after modification. Nevertheless, based on Hermia’s model, the most dominant fouling mechanism on PP membrane did not affected by PDA/PVP coating.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Hydrophilic,Organic fouling,Polydopamine,Polypropylene membrane,Polyvinylpyrrolidone[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]This research is funded by Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) Indonesia under Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia (BPI) program (Grant number: PRJ-3207/LPDP.3/2016 ).[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1016/j.surfin.2020.100464[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
