Guntur complex in West Java, where an active volcano is present. Our tomographic images clearly show low values of Vp and Vs located in the same position beneath the Mt. Guntur complex. The decrease in the P-wave velocity is faster than that in the S-wave. We found that the value of Vp/Vs in the anomalous zone is 6% – 12% lower relative to that of the surrounding medium beneath Mt. Guntur in the depth interval of 1 – 6 km from the surface topography. Most of micro-earthquakes are concentrated in and around the anomalous zone. The anomaly may be interpreted as a weak zone of volcanic materials due to remaining volcanic activities in the past that constitutes high temperature aqueous fluid in pores (H2Ofilled pores) with high aspect ratio rather than melting rock. The presence of aqueous fluid in and around the anomalous zone may have caused seismic activities in the study area. © 2011 by IJTS.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Mt. guntur,P,S-wave velocity structures,Tomography,Vp/Vs[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
