Most of soundscape analysis methods focus on how people experience the sonic environment and the perception data is collected while experiencing the environment. The different approach is introduced for soundscape analysis by focusing more on people’s memory and the expectation of the acoustic environment using soundscape composition. In this study, soundscape composition is used to understand the existing urban soundscape of the historic urban areas in Bandung, Indonesia. In this experiment, participants are requested to compose the existing acoustic environment of three historic areas in Bandung. The participants have visited the areas before and the compositions were made according to their memory. The analysis of the overall sound level of acoustic environment composition indicates the sound level difference of maximum of 3.9 dB compared to the actual sound level measurement. The cluster analysis of the sound level of the individual sound sources shows three different acoustic environments indicating the uniqueness of each of the soundscape. The result of this study indicates that soundscape composition can be beneficial to identify the characteristic of the environment and even to identify the improvement of the acoustic environment.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Acoustic environment,Analysis method,Sonic environments,Sound level,Sound source,Soundscapes,Urban areas,Urban soundscape[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]We gratefully acknowledge Institut Teknologi Bandung for the funding of this project through the scheme of P3MI.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
