All rights reserved. The isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites from Morus alba var. shalun root cultures media were implemented in this research. Root cultures were grown in liquid MS (Murashige-Skoog) medium with the addition of 1 ppm hormone IBA (indole-3- butiric acid). Root cultures were subcultured for propagation at the ages of 4 or 5 weeks and were harvested at the age of 8 weeks. Three new Diels-Alder type adducts (1-3) named morushalunins A, B, C, together with a known compound, mulberrofuran K (4), were isolated from the EtOAc extract of the liquid medium of the cultures. The structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated based on a comprehensive analysis of spectroscopic data, including 1D, 2D, NMR and MS data. Compounds 1-4 exhibited significant cytotoxicities against murine leukemia P-388 cells with IC50 values of 0.7, 0.8, 2.0 and 0.6 μg/mL respectively. These results demonstrated the potency of compound 1- 4 as the lead compounds for anticancer agent.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Cytotoxicity,Diels-Alder adducts,Liquid medium,Morus alba var. shalun,Root cultures[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]We thank to the Directorate General of Resources for Sciences, Technology and Higher Education of Republic Indonesia for the financial support, Kebun Percobaan Tanaman Murbei, Bandung, Indonesia for the plant material, Dr. Elvira Hermawati for the NMR measurements, Dr. Intan Timur Maisyarah for the MS measurements and Suzany Dwi Ellita, S.Si for the measurements of cytotoxicity assay.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
