Fluid properties are calculated using a specially developed mesh-free computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method called Discrete Vortex Method (DVM). The acquired unsteady aerodynamic loads from DVM are used to calculate the flutter derivatives. The results are then used to predict the maximum allowable wind speed before flutter occurs. To test the methodology, a flutter instability analysis of a long span bridge with two degree of freedom (heaving and pitching) is performed. It is found that the results, calculated using the current method, are in good agreement with those obtained in previous studies.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Computational fluid dynamics methods,Discrete vortex method,Flutter derivatives,Flutter instability,Flutter speed,Two-degree of freedom,Two-degree-of-freedom models,Unsteady aerodynamic load[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Discrete vortex method,Flutter derivatives,Flutter speed[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.4028/www.scientific.net/AMM.660.639[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
