Thermal stability is one of the crucial properties of lube oil that affect their application. Generally, study about thermal stability perform on a short period and mainly focus on highest temperature limit that can be accepted before their degradation. However, lube oil frequently used for long service period at lower of their temperature limit. Therefore, in this study, thermal stability of commercial lube oil were performed using lube oil pump of gas turbine at moderate temperature (107 °C) for 3000 hours to know thermal stability of lube oil under moderate temperature operation for long period. After 3000 hours, deposits were found in used lube oil. Based on Energy-dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) result, deposits are dominated by carbon, suggesting that deposits are originally from organic compound. Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) analysis shows that the presence of aromatic compound as antioxidant additives in used-lube oil is lower than in the fresh-lube oil. It indicates that the aromatic compound were consumed during operation. Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) analysis to used-lube oil is different with TGA of the fresh-lube oil. It indicates that the deposit in used- lube oil might be a thermal-oxidative degradation products of lube oil after prolong service at moderate temperature.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0005275[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
