The relationship between self-employed motivation and individual work performance among online drivers in West Java, Indonesia

The uncertain situation has an impact on the instability of their income. Thus, this study aims to investigate the relationship between self-employed motivation and individual work performance. A total of 387 online drivers have participated and selected from four regional areas of West Java, Indonesia through the self-administered questionnaire. The data was analysed using the descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis by assisting the SPSS-25. The results of analysis found that the self-employed motivation has a significant positive relationship on individual work performance. In conclusion, the self-employed motivation can increase the individual performance of online drivers in West Java, Indonesia.
