The effect of voltage variation (160-240volt) on lighting quality and color properties of LED lamps in Indonesia

The efficient and effective use of lighting can offer major energy. LED lamp technology is used today as an efficient light and has the advantage of more durable than conventional lamps. During its operational, LED lamps will suffered the variation voltage. It was caused of energy shortage that happened today and sometimes brownout is still done to avoid outage. Unfortunately it makes the voltage in area supplied by long network become worse in peak load, and the lamps will operate under its rating voltage. This research will investigates and analysis the performance of LED lamps in variation voltage operational. The first part doing test for 10 samples of LED lamps and put them into various voltage operating from 160 up to 240 Volt, by increasing 10 volt each 30 minutes. Result shows that each lamp has different characteristics changing based on various voltage operating. The second part is an observation for alternating of chromaticity xy of lamps, that cause CCT and CRI movement. The result show changes for all parameters during the tested.
