In Indonesia, the use of LED lamps increased sharply since the last four years, replacing CFL lamps. The most commonly found pc-WLEDs in the market are Blue-emitting LED coated with yellow phosphor based on silicon matrix. Many literature studies performed accelerated artificial aging of phosphor/silicon composite using oven and thermal plate. The consensus is to use a temperature of 85 °C. This study investigates medium term degradation failure mechanisms of phosphor/silicon material and found that such effect can be observed at ambient temperature.
