Rapid population growth resulting in increased electricity needs in Indonesia. Therefore PLN as a provider of electrical energy as possible to meet those needs. One step that is done is to plan to build a 500 kV transmission line in Sumatera. With the planned construction of the transmission line, it is also necessary planning for the distribution of electrical energy by analyzing the reliability of the transmission line against lightning strikes disorders. In this final project will be discussed on the development planning of 500 kV transmission line by comparing the two models of transmission line towers. The first model is a transmission line with two circuits and two ground wire, where the height of the tower is 71.625 meters. While the second model of the tower is a transmission line with 4 circuits and 2 ground wire, with a height of 108.545 meter transmission tower. Of the two types of transmission towers will be analyzed against lightning strikes of lightning performance of each of the transmission tower. 500 kV transmission line is expected to supply electrical energy and increase the reliability of the electricity system in Sumatra area which is an area with electrical energy demand is high enough.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]500 kV transmission lines,Development planning,Distribution of electrical energy,Electrical energy demand,Electricity system,Lightning performance,Rapid population growth,Transmission line towers[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Lightning performance,Transmission 500 kV,Transmission line[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1109/ICHVEPS.2017.8225873[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
