Entrepreneurship training for community in rural area: Motivation and knowledge of entrepreneurship

All rights reserved.In developing countries like Indonesia, there are many people who want to be employees rather than to be entrepreneurs. Whereas, to be a developed country, it is needed new ventures to encourage economic growth evenly. The population density and uneven number of population are caused by the jobs that are mostly available in urban areas. To solve this problem is needed to create new job opportunities in rural areas through entrepreneurial activities. This is an effort to assist the government in economical redistributing. One of the solutions is the socialization of entrepreneurship knowledge through entrepreneurship training programs. So, this study designed entrepreneurship training materials contents for community development in rural area. The methodology of this research is using literature, in-depth interviews, observation and focus group discussion to define the motivations and basic knowledge of entrepreneurs and community in rural area. After that, the researchers compare the motivation and entrepreneurial basic knowledge differences between people in rural area and entrepreneurs. Moreover, the researchers found the knowledge gap that must be improved and becomes the materials of the training program.
