In this paper, we present algorithm and hardware architecture of IQ imbalance estimation and compensation in an OFDM system based on IEEE 802.16-2009 Fixed WiMAX standard. In order to accurately estimate the IQ imbalance, we use estimation in both time domain and frequency domain. The estimation is adaptively changed between time and frequency domain based on the estimated CFO. We also propose an architecture of IQ imbalance estimation and compensation which employs CORDIC and resource sharing method. Performance of the architecture was verified by confirming that MSE of the bit-precision model is not significantly deteriorated compared with the floating-point model in all tested channel models and CFO variations. © 2012 IEEE.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Channel estimation errors,Direct conversion receivers,Estimation and compensation,Hardware architecture,I-Q imbalances,Resource sharing methods,Signal constellation,Time and frequency domains[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]IQ imbalance,OFDM,WiMAX[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1109/ISPACS.2012.6473574[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
