As a result, electricity token payments must be made offline using token. Moreover, using current meter, electricity operators and customer cannot observe and control the electricity usage. This paper focuses on designing a digital electricity meter with two-way internet communication. The meter uses a 32 bits microcontroller as its main control module and LoRa® based radio communication. The design includes RTOS design, where it is used to simultaneously perform operations such as data acquisition, payment algorithms, and encrypted communication. In order to implement electricity payment services, the system is designed to communicate with payment gateway. We also design a specific communication protocol to enable customers to track and control their electricity consumption. This protocol also allows customers to make electricity payments using NFC smartcard, token and internet banking. In order to monitor electricity usage, the system is equipped with a dashboard that can be used by electric operators. For users, an android™ application is designed to observe electricity usage. The test results show that the system can measure electricity usage, make payments using internet banking, and NFC tags.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Author keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Electricity meters,Electricity usage,Electricity-consumption,Encrypted communication,Internet banking,Internet communication,Payment gateways,Payment services[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Indexed keywords” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]Cloud,Digital Electricity Meter,LoRa®,NFC Smartcard,Payment Gateway[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”Funding details” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_empty_space][megatron_heading title=”DOI” size=”size-sm” text_align=”text-left”][vc_column_text]https://doi.org/10.1109/Comnetsat50391.2020.9328998[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_column_text]Widget Plumx[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1624528584150{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
