COVID-19 pandemic has affected more than 200 countries and territories in the world. More than 1.5 million deaths have been registered since the start of December 2020. The nature of the crisis is unprecedented: beyond the short-term repeated health and economic shocks, the drawn-out impacts on human resources, productivity and behavior may be long-lasting. The greater part of the world’s population has encountered a lockdown with strong containment measures. Governments have been operating in a context of radical uncertainty, and confronted with difficult trade-offs given the health, economic and social challenges it raises. It has shaken the world, setting in motion waves of change with a wide scope of possible trajectories. MTE 2021 Special Edition – The 2nd COVID-19 International Innovation Awards (an online event) is scheduled to return in February 2021. The awards acknowledge and celebrate all innovations in response to COVID-19. We believe that innovations – existing and new – across various categories can be instrumental in the response and recovery efforts globally.

Organisations or Individuals, who have found creative ways of supporting communities in unprecedented times.
