Dr Tom Davis lectures in politics at the School of Social and Political Sciences. His current research projects focus on the tension between development and foreign aid, social accountability and sustainable development, and human rights and development with a focus on the Asia Pacific region. Dr Davis collaborates with the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), Oxfam Australia, World Vision Australia, and the Nossal Institute for International Health. Recent publications include Human Rights in Asia (Edward Elgar, 2010), ‘The MDGs and the Incomplete Relationship between Development and Foreign Aid’, and ‘The Politics of Human Rights and Development’. Dr Davis will be delivering a major report on Accountability and Development Effectiveness for ACFID in late 2010.
