We are glad to invite you to the Discussion Series on Excellent Research Culture: MIT – Indonesia Workshop on Research Culture organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). The event will be held on (Boston) Monday, 5 April 2021 / (Bandung) Tuesday, 6 April 2021.

Indonesia research community, in this case, ITB and 12 PTNBH Universities needs to hear lessons learned from colleagues with more mature research portfolios to share their thoughts and insights on how to build a solid research culture and stay relevant to the national and international conversation.

Objective

The objective of this workshop is to discuss how to develop strong research cultures within Indonesian Higher Educations and garner lessons learned from our respected international scholars. Through this workshop, we expect to obtain fresh ideas on developing a research ecosystem, which include resources, infrastructure, network, and model for strong and sustainable research and development to support future science and technology innovation

  1. How their institution has been building a strong research culture, its roadmap, its evaluation, and its recruiting;
  2. Building scientific and technology network with funding sponsors, industries, and other research institutes as part of building a strong and sustainable research ecosystem
  3. Developing and maintaining excellent research and academic talents to meet the current and future science and technology challenges.
  4. Establishing a multi-discipline/multi-department research center as part of the technology innovation solution
  5. Managing and financing research collaboration activities
  6. The resistance and drawback in the journey;
